Clinical Trials

  • Psoriasis: Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center, as a regional Psoriasis Center, is currently seeking patients to participate in clinical trials for patients with psoriasis. These clinical trials are generally intended for patients who are 18 years of age or older and have at least 10% of their body involved with psoriasis. The study medication and all the visits relating to the clinical trial are free, and patients receive a small stipend for their time and travel expenses.
  • Pediatric Psoriasis: Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center is currently seeking pediatric patients with psoriasis for a clinical trial of a medication used in the treatment of psoriasis.  The trial is about one year in length with the possibility of a 12 month extension study.  Patients must be between the ages of 6 and 18 years of age and have at least 10% of their body affected by plaque psoriasis in order to qualify for this trial.  The study medication and all the visits relating to the clinical trial are free, and patients receive a small stipend for their time and travel expenses.
  • Rosacea: Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center is currently seeking patients with rosacea for a clinical trial of a new medication for the treatment of rosacea. The trial is a 12-week trial that will require six office visits, with a potential extension period of another 40 weeks. Patients need to have moderate to severe rosacea (defined as having redness and at least 15 but not more than 75 acne-like bumps) in order to qualify for the trial. The study medication and all the visits relating to the clinical trial are free, and patients receive a small stipend for their time and travel expenses.
  • Acne: Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center is currently seeking patients with acne for a clinical trial of a new medication for the treatment of acne.  The trial is a 12-week trial that will require 7 office visits.  Patients need to be over the age of 9 and have moderate to severe acne in order to qualify for the trial.  The study medication and all the visits relating to the clinical trial are free, and patients receive a small stipend for their time and travel expenses.
